Li Tie

Club: Everton, Premiership

Height: 183 cm

Weight: 70 kg

Born Place: Liaoning, China

Position: Midfielder

Li Tie began amateur football training when he was very young. Having
been selected into a provincial team at eight years of age, Li developed
steadily in his hometown team before sent to Brazil for sponsored
football training at 16.

Returning from Brazil, the 21-year-old was included in the national team
as a defensive midfielder and firmly occupied the position since then.

Following China's debut at World Cup 2002, Li signed a one-year loan
contract with Premiership side Everton as part of the club's new
sponsorship deal with Chinese electronic giant, Kejian.

With a glowing start at the Premiership, Li's stay in Everton did not go
smoothly. He lost his starting position as center midfielder since the
middle of the season and failed to score a goal until very recently in a
preseason friendly with the Celtics.
