Three Gorges Dam highway passed provincial assessment

The special highway across the Three Gorges Dam with a 3.5 billion yuan
(US$437.5 million) investment passed the assessment of Hebei provincial
development and reform commission and communication department in Wuhan
on June 28. The recommended 57-kilometer route starts from Quxi Bridge of
Maoping Town in Zigui County (now Yinxingtuo Wharf) to reach the south
bank of Yichang's Changjiang River Highway Bridge and connect with the
Shanghai-Chongqing West Expressway which is under construction. This
project is busy with the prophase work at present.
