Hubei's folk music selected as intangible cultural heritage

The folk music of Hubei's Zhijiang City that features an ensemble of
Chinese wind and percussion instruments made the list of the first batch
of state intangible cultural heritage approved by China's Ministry of
Culture. The ensemble of Chinese wind and percussion instruments of
Zhijiang is an ancient and traditional folk art form presented mostly
through folk wedding, funeral, espousing events and various celebrative
customs, labor customs and festive galas accompanied by folk dances, such
as lotus-picking boat, lion dance, dragon lamp dance, clam shell dance
and stilt-walking and more musical forms.
